If you've just starting out performing echocardiograms or are preparing for your boards, this course is designed to meet your changing educational needs. Once enrolled, you will receive a 260-page course book filled with information gathered from experienced sonographers that will both enhance your scanning technique and improve your chances for successful completion of your boards. All the images throughout the material are digitally generated – not photocopied – for optimal quality and resolution. This course is modeled after the exam outline for Adult Echocardiography by the ARDMS, which now includes physics principles and instrumentation, hemodynamics and other topics that had been included in the Physics exam. A DVD demonstrates proper technique of a normal echocardiogram. The material covers the topics of Anatomy & Physiology, Cardiac Evaluation and Hemodynamics, 2D Imaging, M-mode, Doppler/Colorflow, Valvular Abnormalities, Coronary Arteries/Aorta/Cardiac Masses, Congenital Diseases and Diseases of the Heart Walls. The course is structured into five sections. Successfully complete a test at the end of each section and you will earn 20 SDMS CME credits! Work at your own pace and start whenever it is convenient for you.
